Retinal, without the peeling week
What makes retinal different from retinol, and how to start slowly.

Retinoids are the most studied ingredients in skincare, and the most misused. Too much, too soon, and skin flakes and stings. Retinal is one step closer to retinoic acid than retinol, so it works faster at lower doses.
Start three nights a week
Use a pea-sized amount on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the first fortnight. If skin is comfortable, move to every other night, then nightly.
Buffer if you need to
Sensitive? Apply a light moisturiser first, then the night cream. It slows absorption without cancelling the benefit.
And always, SPF
Retinoids make skin more sensitive to the sun. The morning after is non-negotiable: Daylight Fluid SPF 50, every time.
