Why we match every shade at a window

Studio bulbs flatter. Daylight tells the truth. How eight shades of Second Skin Tint were judged.

Most foundations are matched under bright, warm studio lights. They look perfect on the shoot and grey by the bathroom mirror. We wanted the opposite problem: shades that look right in the harshest, most honest light there is.

North light, no filters

Every Second Skin Tint shade was tested on at least twelve people of that depth, standing at a north-facing window between 10 am and 2 pm. No ring lights, no makeup underneath, no retouching.

Undertone first, depth second

Indian skin runs warm, olive and red far more often than pink, so we built the range from undertones outward. 05 Almond, for example, carries a green-gold that most ranges skip entirely.

Try it yourself

Our shade finder asks three daylight questions and lets you compare the result against your inner arm. If the match is wrong, we swap it free within thirty days.
